We also talk some about the movies we’re looking forward to that are coming out later this summer. In the middle of that there is some beer love given to the state of Wisconsin. We talk about MacGruber for the third week in a row. MACGRUBER!! We talk about how Michael Bay was told “erm, no” when he requested to blow things up on the National Mall. There’s more movie news in there… You’ll just have to listen. We talk some about the new NBC show called ‘The Cape’ and about Vinnie Jones and his bruising ways. We talk about Torchwood’s renewal. There’s some other TV crap too. Kevin talks about the 2 weeks worth of comics he read and we list off a bunch of Dragon*Con guests.

Fan Rants Episode 27

This week we recorded earlier in the day, so Johnny was sober. We talk a little about Splice. We talk about a possible Aquaman movie, among other DC “second tier” possibilities. Michael Bay gets a mention for destroying our childhoods. Apparently, he’s going to remake Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We talk about Logans Run and how it’s being remade, which turns into a brief synopsis of what Logans Run is all about for those who may not have ever seen it. If you haven’t seen it, we suggest you do. In TV, we finally talked about the Fringe Finale. We also talk in depth about the Lost Finale. Yes we know it’s been a while, but it needed some time to sink in. While we were recording we got the news that Gary Coleman died. We talked about that a little. R.I.P. In comics news we talk about “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep: Dust to Dust” and how it’s totally worth the read.

Those are the facts of life… Johnny saw two movies this week, How to Train your Dragon and Robin Hood. He liked one of them. MacGruber is discussed at length. We get a little confused with Prince of Persia. We talked about TV and how Kevin is crazy behind. We both think Rush should have had his way with that woman who really wanted him to. Of course we talk about Lost, but since the final episode hadn’t aired yet we didn’t know what we were talking about. It’s amazing how correct Johnny was and how wrong I was. Either way, it’s fun to listen to our theories. There was a bunch of other stuff too, but I guess you’ll just have to listen. BTW, Kristin shot J.R.

Hello Loyal Listeners! This week on the pod we talk about Johnny and his love of Thor’s IMAX sized Hammer. Johnny got to see a sneak preview of the movie “Splice” and we talked about it. It is spoiler free. I did cut out a part that was very spoilery, but HILARIOUS. I’ve got it tucked away for when the movie has been out for a few weeks. Unfortunately it’s tucked right next to my dong, so it’ll be a little ripe whenever we do pull it out. I have NO idea what I dropped at minute 22, but it was a funny little break from the normal, so I left it in. We then talk some more about the upcoming Marvel movies, like Captain America. Apparently, Red Skull drags teeth. When we move on to TV talk, we talk about Human Target and Lie to Me being renewed, then Kevin Freaks out about V being renewed and Flash Forward being canceled. We briefly talk about Smallville. Theres some Comic book talk too.

Even though I ran out of rum about halfway through, things still got a little crazy. For some reason we talked about how digestion works. We talk about Iron Man 2, The Losers, Captain America, Danger Girl, The Hobbit, random television, the comics we’re reading, and, for some reason, how food is digested. We go old school and bring up Tad Lincoln too.

Sweet balls of rum! This week we get back in the swing of things with rum and beer. Not mixed together. Let me say that WE KNOW (now) that we were totally wrong about Fringe. I didn’t edit it out because I thought it was funny. There’s movie talk, TV talk, we make fun of Thor, the French, the Germans, ourselves, religious fanatics, Harrison Ford, aliens, among many other things. Some how we managed to talk about the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens movie for like 10 minutes.

Fan Rants Episode 21 – The C2E2 wrap up episode

This week Johnny and I went to C2E2, the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. I’m severely disappointed because we weren’t able to drink as much as we wanted. This is because we were working. I know, you’re thinking “when has drinking at work ever been a problem?” Well, hindsight is 20/40, especially when you’ve been drinking in the morning. We really had a great time at the convention and were sad to leave.

We spent 4 lovely days in Chicago, taking in the sights and reporting our findings on the website. I do hope you’re reading the website… You can follow the podcast at @fantsinpants where there are links given out to new articles as they’re posted along with my comments and banter and digital belches, OR if for some unknown reason you don’t like to hear me rant at celebrities and talk about the book I’m reading on the crapper, you can follow @fanrants and just get link updates. Either way, follow one of them… It really is the best way to see what we’re doing AND get in touch with us.

Fan Rants Episode 20

FINALLY! First off, let me apologise for the delay. Life happens. Please note that there are no sponsors for the show (and we aim to keep it that way), which means we do this podcast (and this website) because we love doing it. What this means is that sometimes life can get in the way of editing or recording the podcast. While we aim to be a weekly pod, the reality is that sometime we are going to be bi-weekly, or something thereabouts. Heh, “bi”.

This week we talked about Captain America, Fringe, Legend of the Seeker, boobs, movie ticket prices, and all that fun stuff. There’s also a little bit about which Trades we’re reading. This episode was actually recorded a couple weeks before it’s airing, as is evidenced by our Alice in Wonderland talk, so if you think the news is stale (which I personally do not) then focus on our liberal use of the word “balls”. I also say “F*ck” a lot, which should make the 10 year old in you giggle. Wait, why is there 10 year old in you?

Wow! It’s been a long time! We’ve missed you. Sorry it’s taken so long to pump out an episode. Johnny was out of town and last week we had some technical difficulties. We actually recorded an episiode, but the audio was all messed up. We got it right this week and we hope to deliver a flaming golden turn to your doorstep for you to stomp on. We talked about Superman this week. A lot.

There was no music this week. I looked around for some, wasn’t feeling inspired by anything and hit a deadline to get this one out, which I am already a day late for. Music will return next week.

This week we we FINALLY talk about Lost… I guess we wanted to wait until it was airing and we would sound like we were behind the times. Same thing with Fringe. Did you see that Olivia could see Peter “glimmering”? We hadn’t yet either! And no, he’s not a vampire. They “sparkle”.

This week there were some very minor technical problems, mostly involving the recording software freezing for a split second and cutting off the ends of words and pauses and things like that. We talk about the Avengers movie, the Lobo movie, Sherlock Holmes 2, cat f*cking, Chuck, Fringe, Comics, and all the usual stuff that you’ve (hopefully) come to love and expect from us. heh, “come to love”

Fan Rants episode 15 just exploded out of my pants and all over… Wait, let me start that over.

Fan Rants episode 15 just made a mess all over… hmm, maybe one more try…

Please offer us is the latest modern day television and movies, as well as comic books and the news conference included several humorous insights enjoy.

Crap, it looks like Google’s nerd to english translator is down again. Either way, enjoy this weeks episode. It was a lot of fun for us to record and we hope that translates to it being a lot of fun to listen to.

You may be saying to yourself “why does he keep calling me ‘Dom’? I’m not calling you Dom… I’m calling Dom Dom. Not you. Got it? OK, I know we said we were trying to maybe get the episodes to under an hour, but dammit I can’t find enough crap to cut out! Johnny and I are like those women on The View, just cluck cluck clucking! Is that show even on TV anymore?

The final song we heard was called “io non sono riccardo” by the band Angelo elle. We only had time for the one track. I did listen to the whole album and it was pretty darn good too. The album is called “LATO A LATO L”

We hope that it is amusing and fun and when the hour is over you find yourself thinking “holy balls, it’s over already?!?” Either way, we want to keep our episodes under an hour.

Fan Rants Episode 7

It’s the “where the fuck have you been??” episode. We took a couple weeks to finally get around to it, but we have indeed recorded a new episode. This episode ran long because Johnny and I hadn’t talked and a while and we sort of went on a bit more than usual. It was all really funny stuff, so I figured what the fuck, just leave it all in there. Future episodes will not be as long. In this episode, Kevin get drunk and blames the rum shortage on a friend in Puerto Rico. We talk all your favorite TV and movies. We talk about the massive amount of upcoming anime cons. We talk about dong shaped pain devices.

We’re going to try and update this blog more than once a week, and we’re also going to try and keep the facebook and twitter active. Johnny will be updating all those things with links from this episode shortly.

I was chastised after last episode for playing Ukrainian death metal, so this week I give you Latin beats. The first album was “Naciendo Para El Mundo” (pops) by Jan y Su Son Latino.

The second album was Kalliopi (pops) by Kalliopi.

The Third partial album was ProyectoT (pops) by ProyectoT. We only heard the first 9 tracks from that one.

The much anticipated episode 6 has finally arrived! We’re a week behind and this is a clip show, but it’s still not to be missed! We have a long discussion about Stargate Universe. We discuss The Kung Fu Kid. Apparently Kevin has opinions about Eliza Dushku. He also talks to Johnny’s pussy. Also, YES I realize that I say “week of october 17th” at the beginning… what part of “We’re a week behind and this is a clip show” didn’t you get?

This weeks death metal-tastic music was all Ukrainian. The first album was by a Ukrainian band whose Cyrillic name might have goofed up our RSS feed, from the album Click here to see the album name (pops). I don’t read/speak/understand Russian/Ukrainian/Cyrillic, so you’re on your own there. The second album was by the far easier to read/pronounce Ukrainian band Ambivalence, from the album Pornomechanoid (pops). We didn’t get to play the whole album as we ran out of time.

It was a short week between episode 1 and 2. Mostly because I slacked on editing episode 1. Not so on episode 2, and here’s proof! Also, yes, we know Fringe started THIS week and not next week. Also, sorry this episode ran a little long. We’re still trying to get the timing down and there wasn’t enough bad crap to cut out! Also also still trying to figure out why the audio sucks balls when I convert it to MP3. It sounds clear in the raw format… Just deal with it til it gets straightened out. Thanks!!
