That Is Some Nav’i Sex!
Monday, January 4th, 2010So I am going to presume that if your reading this blog you have probably already seen Jim Cameron’s newest film, Avatar. Or if you haven’t, you may have concluded from the commercials that there would probably be a little ‘baoh chicka baoh baoh’ going on sometime in the movie. If not, well it’s not that much of a spoiler to say that the giant Smurf Cats get it on.
The scene was short, and I didn’t think much of it at the time, but during the after-movie-over-drinks discussion one of my friends made mention that he had expected more. And there were specifics to his argument that I agreed with. Well fear not my friends, we will get more when the movie drops to DVD/Blu later this year.
In a recent interview over at Reelz Channel with Zoe Saldana, she stated:
“If you sync to your banshee and you’re syncing to a tree, why not sync into a person? I almost feel like you’ll have the most amazing orgasm, I guess. It was a very funny scene to shoot because there were so many technical things that sometimes you have to keep in mind that paying attention to all those might disrupt the fluidity of how a scene is supposed to take place.
And because Jim was shooting for a PG-13 rating, we couldn’t move in certain directions. The motion would look a little too past the PG-13 rating standards. So it was really funny for Sam and me. We had a lot of giggles there.”
So worry not, we will see full on tentacle porn from Jim Cameron in the near future.
Avatar opens internationally at $228 million
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
All you Navi fans must have braved the cold to go see the newest sci-fi blockbuster. Should I call it a blockbuster? Well that may be to soon, but it certainly did well its first weekend, with $228 million in international ticket sales and $77.9 million in US sales (via Variety). With that much domestic, it now has now set the record for a December released film.
But as we all know, many horses (and no, not making racial comments about the Navi) come out of the gate fast but quickly fall to last place. The reviews are strong though, with IMDB having a user rating of 8.9/10 and Rotten Tomatoes giving it 84%, its possible that Cameron may keep it at the top of the box office for a few more weeks.
I had planned on seeing it on Saturday, even pre-bought the ticket for an IMAX showing, but the weather Gods were against me and kept me at home instead. Hope to catch it this week sometime though, gotta see if the hype lives up!
And to whomever thought up the Coke-Zero cross promotion…use spell check next time!
Finally, a Team Edward shirt I would wear!
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
One of my favorite webcomics is called HijiNKS Ensue. Its about the antics of 3 friends and the movies/tv shows they love. Actually, myself and Kevin could have one about our antics also, perhaps FaNTS Ensue!
But I digress, they now have the best Team Edward shirt available from their online store. Go check out their website and be sure to pick up a great non-Twilight tshirt.
“Ninja Assassin” review by Ask a Ninja
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last few years, let me introduce you to Ask a Ninja! This is one of those websites that is super viral and murderingly funny. Each week a Ninja is asked a question by the fans and he answers them. The short videos are always funny and well written. So when the Ninja actually reviewed a movie, I just had to check it out. And so should you!
Don’t cry sparkly vampire, you broke the opening day record
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009
Opening weekend for The Twilight Saga: New Moon set a couple of world records. First it took best opening midnight record then it took best single day opening box office.
And there for a while, it looked like it would take the weekend as well. But Batman: Dark Knight still holds the weekend record with Spider-man 3 coming in second.
None the less, I know Hollywood is licking its lips at the thought of how well its glittery vampire franchise is doing. And how it can come up with more project like it in the upcoming year.
New Moon: Opening night (midnight showing) $26+ million
New Moon: Opening day (Friday) $72+ million
New Moon: Opening weekend $140+ million domestic
New Moon: Opening weekend $118+ million international
That will buy a lot of body glitter!
