Fan Rants

So “The Boys“, by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is one of our favorite comic series. It’s what I call a mature comic book, which means its got cussing and sex in it. Oh, and plenty of hyper violence…just our cuppa tea.

Its got a great premise “The series is set in a contemporary world very much similar to the real one, with one notable exception: a number of people have some form of superpower. The series follows a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as “The Boys”, whose job it is to keep watch on superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or kill them.” – Wikipedia

Recently I found a fan film from Cynical Panda that is pretty good and certainly captures the books first issues. Sound mixing is shite at times, but otherwise well worth a watch.

This week we discuss when a spoiler is a spoiler.  There’s talk about how to make a quick, low budget X-Men movie.  We chat about TV shows that are on ”the bubble”.  There’s even discussion about Morena Baccarin’s package.  There’s the usual goofyness and Johnny being squeemish.
