River Tam and the Fireflies!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Just had to share this amazing piece of art with all my Browncoat friends!

Gallery 1988 is holding their annual Crazy 4 Cult show in Los Angeles from July 9-30th. Its a great art show that handles some wonderful 2D and 3D pieces from cult movie/tv classics. Be sure to check out their gallery once the show starts as they have some way cool stuff, check out last years here!

The piece that knocked me over is from Joey Spiotto…he has created a vinyl record in honor of the show Firefly. It looks like an homage to the Partridge Family to me. You can buy the actual album at the gallery (one of a kind) or prints of the cover art here!

Serenity: The Shepherd’s Tale

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Finally some action on this project. Back in 2008 I was speaking with Ron Glass at the Shore Leave convention in Baltimore when he mentioned he was writing a comic book. And not just any comic, but a story that would fill out the mysterious past of Shepherd Book!

As all Firefly fans know, Book was not at all forthcoming about his history. And due to his actions you knew he was not always a man of the cloth spreading the good word. And soon we will know that history.

According to an article on Comic Book Resources, the story will arrive in hardcover graphic novel format this November. I do recommend you hop over and read the CBR article as they have a great interview with the graphic novels artist, Chris Samnee.

Kaylee and Simon Together Again

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Well kinda… Jewel Staite and Sean Maher are appearing together on an episode of Warehouse 13 this summer. It will be good to see them together again since Serenity.

Simon Sean will be playing a man who finds one of those nasty artifacts and undergoes a physical change. And in a reversal of character types, Kaylee Jewel will play his unrequited love interest. Here is the full scoop from Syfy.
